• All sale cattle must have valid, individual health papers
• All consignments in the All-Star Steer and Heifer Sale and the Breed Sales will be required to be in place from 12 pm Thursday for the duration of the sale. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of sale privileges.
• All consignors will be held responsible for the HBC Code of Conduct.
• Sale junior calf heifers will be shown on Friday, December 2nd at 10 am.
• The top two heifers from each class will be selected and the remaining heifers will not be placed. The champion of each breed will receive $100 and reserve $50.
• Steers will show immediately following the heifer show. Sale steers will be shown by weight.
• The Breed Sales and the All-Star Steer and Heifer Sale will start at the same time, with the Breed Sales to utilize both rings at the conclusion of the All-Star Steer and Heifer Sale.
• An auctioneer and three ring men for each ring will be provided by the HBC.
• The sale order for steers will be: Grand, Reserve, remaining top animals from the classes. The remaining will be determined by the sale managers.
• The sale order for the heifers will be: Champion, Reserve and then top heifers from the classes. The remaining order will be determined by the sale managers.
• A Supreme Heifer and a Reserve Supreme Heifer will be selected from the champions. They will receive $500 for Supreme and $300 for Reserve.
• Any steer or heifer that goes through the sale and is selected Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, Supreme or Reserve Supreme in the HBC Junior Show will receive an additional premium of:
• Grand: $500 to the consignor and $500 to the buyer and • Reserve: $300 to the consignor and $300 to the buyer.
• There is no individual breed show for purebred steers. If you want to exhibit one, you must enter it in the All-Star Show. You will be required to sell in that sale.
• Consignor is responsible for delivery of sale animal immediately following the sale.
• A consignment to the All Star Steer and Heifer sale or to the Breed Sales does not guarantee that you will have stalls available for your Junior Show cattle in the main barn. Every effort will be made to accommodate consignors with stalls in the main barn, however, there is no guarantee.
ADDITIONAL ALL-STAR SALE INFORMATION
- No catalogs will be printed or mailed. The entire catalog will be on www.hoosierbeefcongress.com and/or www.indianabeef.org.
Copies will be available at the Congress.
- IBCA will be clerking the sale and handling all monies.
- A 5% sale commission will be charged by IBCA.
- All steers and heifers selling as breed eligible steers in the All-Star Sale must meet that specific breed's criteria for screening and must have current registration papers in hand if that breed requires them for the Junior Show. Breed rules are listed under the 2011 HBC Junior Show Rules. If they do not meet those specifications, they will be sold as crossbreds.
- All cattle in the All-Star Sale will be shown by weight.
- All cattle in the All-Star Sale must be tagged with an 840 approved RFID ear tag prior to coming to the scales to be weighed.
- There is a limit of 3 head per consignor.
- All animals must be dehorned and castrated and must be fully healed before coming to the HBC.
- All guarantees are strictly between the buyer and the seller.
ADDITIONAL BREED SALE INFORMATION
- Contact breed association representatives for more details about entering.
- No catalogs will be printed or mailed. The entire catalog will be on www.hoosierbeefcongress.com and/or www.indianabeef.org. Copies will be available at the Congress.
- Out-of-state breeders may sell cattle in the sale if the individual breed association allows.
- Consignors must have current registration papers in hand for all cattle in the breed sales or they will be sold in the All Star Sale.
- IBCA will be clerking the sale and handling all monies.
- A 5% sale commission will be charged by IBCA. Any additional fees taken by breed associations are between the consignors and the breeds. Breed manager contact information is listed below.
- All steers in the Breed Sales must be weighed.
- All steers must be tagged with an 840 approved RFID ear tag prior to coming to the scales to be weighed.
- All animals must be dehorned and healed. Steers must have been castrated and must be fully healed.
- Additional Breed Sale Information:
- Angus Sale: All Angus sale entries must be sent directly to the Indiana Angus Association by September 1, 2011. All Angus sale information is handled by the Indiana Angus Association. Contact Karl Gillette at 765-720-2951. The Indiana Angus Association will retain an additional 5% commission per consignment.
- Charolais Sale: Junior Show Rules will apply for sale cattle.
- Gelbvieh Sale: Junior Show Rules will apply for sale cattle.
- Hereford Sale: Junior Show Rules will apply for sale cattle. All consignors must be members of the Indiana Hereford Association. The Indiana Hereford Association will retain an additional 1% commission per consignment.
- Limousin Sale: Junior Show Rules will apply for sale cattle.
- Maine-Anjou and Maintainer Sale: Bulls must be 50% or higher. Low percentage or MaineTainer females may sell in the Hoosier Beef Congress Sale and will be eligible to show in the Maintainer Division providing that they meet those eligibility requirements. See Junior Show Rules. The Indiana Maine-Anjou Association will retain an additional $75.00 commission per consignment. There will be separate divisions in the Sale Show for Maine-Anjou and Maintainer females.
- Red Angus Sale: Junior Show Rules will apply for sale cattle. The Indiana Red Angus Association will retain an additional $50.00 commission per consignment.
- Shorthorn and Shorthorn Plus Sale: Appendix cattle are allowed to sell in the Hoosier Beef Congress Shorthorn Sale and will be eligible to show in the Shorthorn Plus Heifer division of the Junior Show providing that they meet those eligibility requirements. See Junior Show Rules. The Indiana Shorthorn Association will retain an additional 3% commission per consignment. There will be separate divisions in the Sale Show for Shorthorn and Shorthorn Plus females.
- Simmental and Percentage Simmental Sale: Low percentage Simmental heifers of at least 50% can sell in the Hoosier Beef Congress Sale and will be eligible to show in the Low Percentage Simmental heifer show, providing that they meet those eligibility requirements. See Junior Show Rules. The Indiana Simmental Association will retain an additional $50 commission per consignment. There will be separate divisions in the Sale Show for Simmental and Sim-Solution females.
